This new section is for you. It’s a platform for you to share your stories of how running has changed your life.
To kick us off, we have Krista – mom, runner, and beacon of inspiration. Once a working mom, Krista felt as though she lost her identity when she quit her job to take care of her children.
I’m so excited for Krista to share her story. She writes with such grace, and tells a story we all can relate to.

Krista’s Story: Running to Her Identity
Almost two years ago I quit my full time career to stay home with my kids. While I was glad I made the choice, the transition sent me into a tailspin. I was having some sort of angsty “who am I?” crisis. I had based my entire sense of self on my job and being a working mom. Staying home was harder than I ever could have imagined. Instead of spending picture perfect afternoons in the park or having coffee dates with friends, I was feeling inadequate and in need of personal space.
Not long after my first 5k a group of online friends and I decided to sign up for Colorado
Ragnar. It was a truly amazing experience and brought me closer to some friends in ways that would have taken years without a sleep deprived relay in a van. I loved it so much I signed up for my first marathon taking place a few months later. It was a grueling course with 10 miles running uphill with roughly 4,500 ft gain. I finished it and I’ve never felt stronger than when I crossed that finish line.
