I hope you take these words to heart this morning. I hope you realize how beautifully and wonderfully made you are, and that you’re made for far more than what this world tells you you’re worth. Love, Maria.

You, my dear, are loved beyond measure. Your worth is true and whole and while the world is telling you to be skinnier, to have more friends, to be more successful, where you are right now is where you’re called to be. But you don’t see it because you’re looking for the next big thing. The next big break. The next big ‘aha moment.’ The next chapter in your life. And you think maybe that moment or thing will be the moment or thing that sets you free from the worry and the fear of the unknown.
“Once I know what I’m called to do and where I’m called to be, then it will all make sense and this anxiety will go away.”
But beautiful one, you must wait. You must be patient. And I say this with shaky knees myself, because waiting feels like not being in control. It feels like, “What if I get lost in the turbulent waters and can’t save myself?” But we mustn’t look at it that way, my sisters. Waiting means sitting in the glorious growth we’re going through right at this very moment.
We can’t watch a flower’s growth in the span of a day, but we can see over time how the flower grows to its full beauty and potential. We are those delicate and beautiful flowers. We’re growing, constantly, and sometimes that growth slows down. But because it slows down, doesn’t mean we’re dying or stalled or less than any other person on this earth.
My growth is different than her growth and her growth is different than your growth.
You see, my dear friends, we’re all whole, living, breathing human beings placed on this earth for a reason. What’s your reason, right here, right now you ask?
It’s to love Jesus above all else.
So, while the world is fleeting and flying by around us, we are strong and stable, because we are rooted and growing in Him. We are unsure and we doubt, but we are at peace. We are scared and overwhelmed, but we have joy in our hearts.
It’s okay to feel contradicting things. It’s okay to feel like you don’t have it all together. It’s okay to be not okay sometimes.
Because you won’t feel like this forever. Keep strong in what you know to be true. And hold this close to your heart today, my loves:
We are joyful, just as Mary, the mother of Jesus was joyful, because, like her, we make a gift of ourselves to God and to others every day. So, even when we’re filled with uncertainty, let us continue to be filled with joy.
“And Mary said: ‘My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior.'” Luke 1:46-47
